Playfina review: A$7,500 a week out, run by the company behind King Billy

Playfina's terms name Novatrix SRL, the same Costa Rican company behind King Billy, Casinonic and Woo Casino. ACMA blocks six Playfina domains, and a big win comes out at A$7,500 a week at most.

Playfina review: the verdict

Playfina is a mid-sized offshore casino with an Australian landing page, prices in A$ and a title banner offering "up to A$2,600 + 800 FS". It is also on ACMA's blocked list, and its terms tie it to a company that already runs at least five other blocked casinos. We score it 3.5 out of 10. The withdrawal caps are clearer than at many offshore sites, but a single good win can take weeks to reach you, and you would be relying on the Tobique Gaming Commission and Costa Rican arbitration if anything went wrong.

This is a desk review. We read the terms, bonus terms, responsible gambling policy, complaints page and footer on 9 October 2026 from an Australian connection. We did not open an account or deposit.

No. The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 bans offering online casino games and pokies to people in Australia, and ACMA's blocked gambling websites list includes playfina.com plus playfina1, playfina3, playfina5, playfina6 and playfina8. ACMA describes listed sites as illegal services and warns that players risk losing their money with them. Playing is not an offence for you, but none of Australia's consumer protections apply. Our explainer on ACMA blocked gambling sites covers how the blocks work.

Oddly, Playfina's own restricted-country list in clause 2.4 does not mention Australia at all. Its 50 entries include the US, the UK and the Netherlands, yet the site greets Australians with an /au/ page. Clauses 3.3 and 3.4 then admit that NetEnt and Amatic games are not available here.

Playfina also runs numbered copies of its site, five of which ACMA has already blocked. We will not name or link the others: they exist to keep the casino reachable after a block.

Who owns Playfina?

Clause 1.1 of the terms says playfina.com is owned and operated by Novatrix SRL, registered in Costa Rica under number 3-102-893958, with licence no. 0000002 from the Tobique Gaming Commission. The Commission's licence holder list does show a "Novatrix S.R.L" entry expiring on 13 March 2027, but the list carries no licence numbers and no brand names, so it cannot confirm which sites the licence covers.

The same company, registration number and licence number appear in the terms of five other casinos we have reviewed:

That is the most useful answer to "Playfina sister sites": the clauses are near copies, so the rules below will feel familiar if you have read our King Billy casino review.

How long do Playfina withdrawals take?

Playfina says it aims to process withdrawals within 72 hours of approval, bank transfers within 3 business days. The catch is the cap table in clause 11.8:

LimitAUD figure in the terms
Minimum withdrawalA$20
Daily maximumA$3,000
Weekly maximum (rolling 7 days)A$7,500
Monthly maximumA$30,000
Progressive jackpot winsPaid in full, outside the caps

In our calculation, a A$20,000 pokie win comes out as A$7,500, A$7,500 and then A$5,000, so roughly three weeks, slightly sooner if the 1st of a month falls in between, because the weekly counter also resets then. A A$50,000 win needs about seven weekly payments and spills into a second month. Bank transfers can also lose fees to intermediary banks, typically up to 16 EUR, a cost Playfina says is outside its control.

Before any of that, two rules apply. Every deposit must be wagered three times before you can withdraw it (clause 9.7), and verification can include a phone call. If Playfina cannot reach you by phone or email within two weeks of a withdrawal request, the account is locked and the withdrawal cancelled. Documents must be in Latin or Cyrillic script, otherwise a video check may be required. Our guide to casino withdrawal limits compares caps like these across sites.

The welcome package and the x35 rule

The bonus terms are short on specifics. Clause 1.10 says "All deposit bonuses have a wager x35", without saying whether that is 35 times the bonus or 35 times the deposit plus bonus. The difference doubles the work, so here are both readings for a A$100 deposit with a 100% match, at pokies returning 96%:

Reading of x35Bets neededSpins at the A$8 capExpected cost (4%)
Bonus only (A$100 x 35)A$3,500at least 438A$140
Deposit plus bonus (A$200 x 35)A$7,000at least 875A$280

Either way the expected cost is larger than the A$100 bonus. Other rules to know:

  1. A$30 is the minimum deposit for any deposit bonus.
  2. Your real money is wagered first, then the bonus.
  3. Jackpot and bonus buy games are excluded, and a long list of named pokies is off limits while a bonus is active.
  4. Table games, video poker and roulette count 5% toward wagering.
  5. Buying a feature counts toward the A$8 bet cap, and breaking the cap can void winnings.

Plug other numbers into the wagering requirements calculator before you accept anything.

Playfina no deposit bonus and codes

We found no current Playfina no deposit offer or code on the pages we read, so we cannot confirm one. If one reaches you by email, the caps are written down: winnings from no deposit free spins top out at A$100, and a no deposit cash bonus at 10 times its value. Our no deposit bonus Australia guide explains why those caps decide what such offers are worth.

Responsible gambling tools

The Novatrix responsible gambling policy (versions dated February and June 2026) offers deposit, loss and wager limits by day, week or month, a cooling-off period of 1 week to 6 months, and self-exclusion for 6 months, 9 months, 1 year or indefinitely. Lowering a limit is immediate; raising one needs email confirmation and only takes effect once the old limit expires, which is the right design. The policy tells you to set limits through LiveChat or by emailing support.

Two gaps stand out. Deposit limits "cannot always be applied" to crypto, and crypto deposits may still go through during a cooling-off period. The help organisations listed are Gamblers Anonymous, GamCare and Gambling Therapy, none of them Australian. Gambling Help Online answers on 1800 858 858 at any hour, and our guide to gambling deposit limits shows other ways to cap spending, including through your bank.

Games and support

We did not count the lobby. The bonus terms name excluded titles from more than 30 studios, among them Play'n GO, Pragmatic Play, Red Tiger, Yggdrasil, Nolimit City and BGaming, which tells you whose games are there. Extras include weekly rakeback, monthly cashback, a shop, lootboxes, a lottery and a fortune wheel.

Support runs through [email protected] and LiveChat; we found no stated hours. Complaints go to support first, then can be escalated to EGIS, a dispute service the terms say operates under Tobique's rules. Any other dispute goes to arbitration in Costa Rica, and server logs decide game results.

Frequently asked questions

Is Playfina legit?

It names a real company: Novatrix SRL of Costa Rica, which appears on the Tobique Gaming Commission's list of licence holders. That is a long way from Australian regulation, though, and ACMA has blocked six Playfina domains as illegal gambling services.

Is Playfina legal in Australia?

No. Online casino games and pokies cannot legally be offered to people in Australia under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, and ACMA lists playfina.com among blocked illegal gambling websites. Playing is not an offence, but you have no Australian regulator to turn to.

How long do Playfina withdrawals take?

The terms say Playfina aims to process requests within 72 hours of approval and that bank transfers are processed within 3 business days. Approval waits on verification, and amounts above A$3,000 a day or A$7,500 a week are held back for later.

Does Playfina have a no deposit bonus?

We could not confirm a current no deposit offer or code. If you get one, the terms cap winnings from no deposit free spins at A$100 and from a no deposit cash bonus at 10 times the bonus.

What are Playfina's sister sites?

The same company, Novatrix SRL with licence no. 0000002, is named in the terms of King Billy, Casinonic, Woo Casino, LevelUp and QueenSpins. All five are on ACMA's blocked list too.
