Key facts
- The slow part of a crypto withdrawal is the casino's review and verification, not the network.
- Wild Tokyo processes withdrawals Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 GMT+3. In Sydney during daylight saving that is 5pm to 2am.
- Crypto minimums are higher: AUD 90 at Wild Tokyo, against AUD 15 for a bank transfer.
- A balance held in a volatile coin can rise or fall while a withdrawal waits.
- The ATO treats crypto you win as a CGT asset if you hold it as an investment, with a cost base equal to its market value when you won it.
The full timeline of a crypto withdrawal
A crypto casino withdrawal has six steps, and only one of them happens on the blockchain:
- Request. You choose the coin and network in the cashier, enter your wallet address and the amount.
- Pending review. The casino's payments team checks the request.
- Verification. On a first withdrawal you upload ID. Wild Tokyo's terms ask for documents within 30 calendar days and say checks can take up to 72 hours after it receives them.
- Processing. The casino approves and sends the coins.
- Network confirmation. The transfer confirms on the blockchain, usually in minutes.
- Cash out. If you want Australian dollars, you sell on an exchange and withdraw to your bank.
Steps 2 to 4 decide how long you wait. Step 5 is the part that gets advertised.
Why "instant" rarely means instant
Casinos review withdrawals during office hours, and those hours are rarely Australian. Wild Tokyo says its withdrawal requests are processed Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 GMT+3, after identity and account checks. Here is that window in Australian time:
| Your time zone | Wild Tokyo processing window |
|---|---|
| Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart (AEDT) | 5pm to 2am |
| Brisbane (AEST) | 4pm to 1am |
| Adelaide (ACDT) | 4:30pm to 1:30am |
| Darwin (ACST) | 3:30pm to 12:30am |
| Perth (AWST) | 2pm to 11pm |
A request made on a Saturday morning in Sydney waits until Monday at 5pm at the earliest. Mino Casino's FAQ is open about the range: from one hour up to several business days, depending on the method and your verification status.
Large first withdrawals take longer again. Wild Tokyo's anti-money laundering rules say it will not pay more than €2,000 within 24 hours, or more than €2,300 in total since registration, until your identity, age and address are verified.
Minimums and caps for crypto
Crypto often has the highest withdrawal minimum in the cashier. Wild Tokyo's minimums:
| Method | Minimum withdrawal |
|---|---|
| Bank transfer | AUD 15 |
| Other methods | AUD 30 |
| Crypto | AUD 90 |
So an $80 balance can go out by bank transfer but not by crypto. Daily caps still apply on top, as our casino withdrawal limits guide explains: AUD 800 a day at Wild Tokyo and AUD 900 a day at Mino Casino at entry level, with no more than three withdrawal requests open at once at either.
What happens to the price while you wait
If your casino balance is held in a coin, its dollar value moves while the withdrawal is pending. Moneysmart warns that crypto is very volatile and can swing by large amounts in a short time.
Worked example (illustration only): you request a withdrawal worth $1,000 in a volatile coin. If the price falls 8% before it is processed, you receive coins worth $920. If it rises 8%, $1,080. Check whether the cashier fixes your withdrawal in Australian dollars or in coins, because that decides who carries the swing. Stablecoins avoid most of it, though they carry risks of their own.
Address, network and memo checks
A crypto payment cannot be called back. Before you submit:
- Copy the address from your wallet or exchange, never type it.
- Match the network on both sides. The same coin can exist on several networks, and the casino and your wallet must use the same one.
- Add the memo or tag if your exchange asks for one.
- Keep the transaction ID the casino gives you. It proves the payment was sent.
Turning crypto back into dollars
Most people cash out through an exchange. AUSTRAC says digital currency exchange providers must be registered and enrolled with it. Moneysmart adds two warnings worth reading before you pick one: many crypto providers are not licensed, and you may not be protected if a platform fails or is hacked.
Tax and the records to keep
For recreational gamblers, gambling wins are not taxable in Australia. Crypto adds a second step. The ATO says crypto you win is a capital gains tax asset if you hold it as an investment, and its cost base is its market value when you won it.
Worked example: you withdraw a win paid in crypto worth $1,000 on the day you receive it. Months later you sell it for $1,300. Your cost base is $1,000, so the sale produces a $300 capital gain to work out under the ATO's CGT rules. If you sell for $800 instead, it is a $200 capital loss.
The ATO also runs a crypto data matching program that collects records from exchanges and other designated service providers for the 2014-15 to 2025-26 years. Keep for each withdrawal: the date, the coin and amount, its value in Australian dollars that day, the transaction ID and the wallet addresses.
Pundit tip: screenshot the cashier screen showing the amount, coin and network before you press confirm. It is the best evidence you will have if a payout goes missing.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a crypto casino withdrawal take?
It depends mostly on the casino. Mino Casino's FAQ says from one hour up to several business days, depending on the method and verification status. Once a payment is sent, the network transfer itself usually takes minutes.
Are instant crypto casino withdrawals real?
Rarely for a first withdrawal. Most casinos verify your identity before the first payout, and Wild Tokyo says verification can take up to 72 hours after it has your documents, with its teams working Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 GMT+3.
Why is my bitcoin casino withdrawal still pending?
Usually because it is waiting for review or verification, it falls outside the casino's processing hours, or it is above a daily cap. If it was approved, check the transaction ID on a block explorer and confirm the address and network you gave.
What is the minimum crypto withdrawal at a casino?
It varies by casino and coin. Wild Tokyo's terms set AUD 90 for crypto methods, compared with AUD 15 for bank transfers and AUD 30 for other methods.
Do I pay tax on crypto casino winnings in Australia?
Gambling wins are not assessable for recreational gamblers. But the ATO says crypto you win is a CGT asset if you hold it as an investment, so selling or swapping it later can create a capital gain or loss.
Can a crypto withdrawal be reversed?
No. A crypto payment sent to the wrong address or network generally cannot be recovered. Moneysmart warns that crypto transactions are not easy to recover, which is also why scammers like them.
