The short answer
TopSport no longer trades, so there is nothing left to score. In 2025 the group that owns Betr bought TopSport's wagering business, moved its customers onto Betr, and pointed the website at Betr: when we checked on 8 October 2026, topsport.com.au returned a permanent redirect to betr.com.au. If you held a TopSport account, read our Betr review for the rules that now apply to you.
How the TopSport sale happened
BlueBet Holdings, now betr Entertainment Limited, told shareholders in February 2025 that it would acquire "certain key assets of Merlehan Bookmaking Pty Ltd (trading as 'TopSport')", with an upfront payment of $10.0 million: 70% in cash and 30% in shares. Its FY25 annual report then records:
- Completion: "On 1 April 2025, BlueBet Pty Ltd acquired Merlehan Bookmaking Pty Ltd's (TopSport) wagering businesses." The report's Appendix 4E gives a different control date, 5 February 2025.
- Price: consideration with a fair value of $10 million, including 8,823,529 shares at $0.34 and earn-out payments based on the net gaming revenue of TopSport customers.
- Funding: a $15.0 million share raise to pay for the deal.
- Customers: migrated onto the Betr platform "in 55 days".
The earn-out detail is worth noticing: part of what TopSport's sellers receive depends on the revenue Betr earns from former TopSport customers. When an account changes hands like this, it is a good moment to review your limits.
What it means for former TopSport customers
- Log in at betr.com.au. Your account was moved to Betr's platform. If your old details do not work, call Betr on 1800 002 387.
- Betr's rules apply. That includes its Tasmanian licence, its deposit and loss limits, and its complaints route through the Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission.
- Look for a leftover balance. Betr's terms say money in an account with no activity for 2 years is sent to you or handled as unclaimed money.
Licence status
TopSport has no row on the Northern Territory register of licensed wagering operators, under Merlehan Bookmaking or any other company, and we found no TopSport app on Apple's Australian App Store. Betr, which now serves TopSport's former customers, holds a Tasmanian Gaming Licence announced by the Tasmanian Government on 7 July 2026. For the full list of licensed brands still trading, see our betting sites Australia guide.
Why this page is not scored
We score operators on what they offer today, using the method on our how we rate page. With no TopSport site, terms or support left, any score would be made up. The page stays out of search results and we will update it if the name returns.
